Our Approach
Economic Empowerment
We promote self-sufficiency through vocational training and business development.
Housing & Healthcare
Every family deserves access to housing and healthcare. We work with Guatemalan professionals and missionaries to provide health education.
Education
Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. We offer Guatemalan children opportunities and scholarships to build brighter futures.
Community Building
We organize community events and support local organizations to create a sense of belonging and hope in underserved Guatemalan communities.
Lighting up people’s homes (literally)
Project Spotlight: Electricity for the Perez Family’s New Home
Guatemala is a land of stunning beauty, rich culture, and vibrant communities, but it's also a place where many families struggle to access basic necessities such as education, healthcare, and basic housing needs. In May 2022, the dream of MayoGuatemala Foundation was inspired by the contribution of some people helping a family to purchase all of the materials needed for the Perez family (to the left) to install electricity in their new home.

Project Spotlight: Stephanie’s Dream on Wheels
To the right is Stephanie Vazquez Alonso, a child with special needs, whose parents dreamed of having a handicap stroller to help move her around. In May 2022, that dream was made a reality, a brand-new special stroller was given to her by donors supporting the dream of MayoGuatemala Foundation.
Sound of hope
Project Spotlight: Hearing Aids for Kimberly and Cristofer
Kimberly and Crisfoter lived in a world of silence due to being hard of hearing. Thanks to the intervention of the joint effort between the Carmelite Missionaries, Dr. Byron Villeda, and supporters of the dream of MayoGuatemala Foundation, Kimberly and Cristofer had the opportunity to begin the process to be able to have some hearing. Dr. Byron Villeda gave them free medical exams and in January 2023, they received free hearing aids donated by good people.
